Olaolukitan Abel- DEKALB COUNTY GA: Olaolukitan Abel Arrested After Brookhaven Shooting Spree Leaves Two Women Dead, One Man Critical

DEKALB COUNTY, GEORGIA — Multi-Jurisdiction Investigation Underway After Early Morning Violence

A 26-year-old Atlanta man is in custody following a series of early-morning shootings across DeKalb County and Brookhaven that left two women dead and one man critically injured, according to law enforcement officials.

Authorities identified the suspect as Olaolukitan Adon Abel, who investigators say carried out multiple random shootings within a span of several hours, targeting victims who had no known connection to him.

Brookhaven Police Chief Brandon Gurley described the case as “deeply disturbing,” noting that coordinated law enforcement efforts likely prevented further loss of life.

The first shooting occurred just after 12:50 a.m. outside a Checkers restaurant on Wesley Chapel Road, where a woman was shot multiple times and later died from her injuries.

Roughly three hours later, at around 2:00 a.m., officers responded to Cherokee Plaza near a Kroger on Peachtree Road, where a 49-year-old unhoused man was found with multiple gunshot wounds while sleeping outside. He was transported to Grady Memorial Hospital in critical condition.

The final deadly incident occurred around 6:50 a.m. on Battle Forest Drive, where 40-year-old Lauren Bullis was shot multiple times and stabbed while walking her dog. She later died from her injuries.

Investigators believe the shootings were random acts of violence spanning unincorporated DeKalb County and Brookhaven. A silver Volkswagen Jetta rental car was identified through license plate recognition technology, ultimately leading authorities to the suspect’s arrest in Troup County.

Abel now faces charges including murder, aggravated assault, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony. Additional charges are expected as the investigation continues.
